From my experience, I have been seeing a lot of people calling themselves web designers but 95% of them are not professional web designers and that is the major reason why they are not doing well as web designers.
To become a professional web designer is not by desiring alone but by working out your desire out with sacrifice; what I mean by sacrifice is to pay the price. Though, you may ask me what princes are? But from my experience the major price is to invest in knowledge and to set aside time for practicing.
A lot of people have chatted me up and ask me “Sir, I am a web designer but am not getting jobs and when I ask them, do you have a personal website, they will say No and they want to get web design jobs which is not possible.” Because one of the things your clients will ask you before they can commit their company project in your hand is to verify maybe you are capable to do their company project and one of the ways to verify is by visiting your website, seeing what you’re capable of doing. So, the very first thing your clients will ask about is your website or your portfolio. If you don’t have a website, to me you’re not a professional web designer.
To become a professional web designer, here are some steps to become a professional web designer which are listed below:
1. Enrolled in web design training
Once of the easiest way to become a professional web designer is to enrolled for web design training, many people called themselves a web designer and the funniest things is that they have never enrolled into any web design training, all they do is to go to YouTube and watch video on how to design a website. It is good but that is not the best way to become a professional web designer. You might spend all day or years watching YouTube videos on how to become a professional web designer but they can never make you a professional web designer because you need a mentor, who can guild you with their experience.

2. Practice Every Week
Another way to become a professional web designer is to practice. Their is a quote that said “practice make perfect.” If you don’t practice you can be perfect. What make man perfect in his area of specialization is the amount of time he uses to practice. The reason why most people cannot compare themselves with me is because of the amount of time I use to practice within a week. I try new things; I try to look at my standard by practicing new things as a web designer.
One of the things the Lord use to build me up is the desire to practice new things. I try to design a different website to know maybe I can meet up. 3. Training
One of the easiest way that make me professional web designer is training. When I said training; I mean training other. I organized free training group on WhatsApp and I begin to trained them for free just to build myself, and by the special grace of God, have trained more than 500 people on how to design a professional website.
So, most people think am helping them; though, it true am helping them but in the process of helping them, that enable me to build my self more and more.
Since have started my web design career, this has also help me a lot because I love to teach people what I know and because of that, I always try to learn new thing that relate with web design and immediately I learn it, I will try to trained people and by doing that, am sharping my web design skill.
So, to become a professional web designer, you need to implement this 3 things; if you do this 3 things you will surely get the best result you want which is to become a professional web designer.
